All the single ladies, here's your chance. The Bachelor is holding an open casting call at The Talbott Hotel in Chicago on Thursday, April 23 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. Pasty Cline Returns

Okay, so I've got Nashville on my mind, having just returned from a wonderful visit there last week. And I've discovered that I may have a spot in my heart for country music after all – turns out it's not all trucks, twang, trailers and Butcher Holler. Anyway, if you've got a hankering for the old days of country, check out the Ryman Auditorium where starting April 15, Always … Patsy Cline plays, starring Mandy Barnett. The show runs for six weeks and features more than 20 of Patsy's songs, including  “I Fall to Pieces,” “Crazy,”  “Blue Moon of Kentucky” and “Sweet Dreams,” which became a hit shortly after her death.
The dates are April 15 - 29 and May 6 – 23, 2009.

Double Your
Sunset

This caught my eye, as it seems we're often scrambling to meet hotel checkout times, and have found ourselves camped bleary-eyed and half-packed in the lobby. Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel has a "Double Your Sunset" package that allows a 6pm checkout. You also get a $75 credit at Ocean Spa & Fitness. Opened in 1989, the Loews Santa Monica is the first beachfront hotel in Los Angeles. Rates start at $359 a night. www.loewshotels.com

All That Jazz –
New Orleans

So I'm missing out on JazzFest this year – we canceled our trip in favor of a family wedding, but there's always next year. Anyway, the W Hotels of New Orleans are offering a year-round Jazz Fest, which includes two VIP tickets to Preservation Hall, a CD and a disposable camera. The package is available now through December 31 and rates start at $129. Mention promo code WJAZZ. www.preservationhall.com

pick of the week

After 28-year-old Stephanie Cion was diagnosed with a neurological disorder in 2005, her oncologist advised her to wear a medial alert bracelet. Disappointed in the selection she found, Stephanie decided to create WELLalarm, a medical alert system that uses technology to provide a code on the jewelry that has access to a WELLalarm account with all the information needed in an emergency. Responders can either call a toll-free number or access an emergency URL. Then she designed a line of necklaces and bracelets for men, women and children that they will love to wear. There are even some shaped like bees, shellfish and peanuts for people with those allergies. http://wellalarm.com
