Girlfriend Getaway Features $1000 New Wardrobe!
I declare I thought there was a typo when I first read about the James' Hotel Summer Girls' Weekend package in Chicago. Here is what you get: breakfast followed by a personal Beach Bootcamp at The Gym, a one-on-one stylist consultation at Club Monaco along with a $1000 wardrobe from the new Beach Boutique collection, followed by a post-shopping cocktail party at J Bar featuring Mojito pitchers. A thousand dollars! All you have to do is figure out how to divide that up. The rate starts at $1,019 for four, so that is just $255 a person. Visit www.jameshotels.com or call The James’ concierge at 312.337.1000 for reservations.

Marco Island is the childhood home of star Leighton Meester, who plays Blair Waldorf. The two-night package also includes two tickets to the Off the Hook comedy club and a selection of gossip tabloids in the room. Monet at the High
The 42-foot-wide triptych "Reflections of Clouds on the Water-Lily Pond" from the Museum of Modern Art is a highlight of Monet Water Lilies, an exhibition at the High Museum of Art in Atlanta from June 6 to August 23, 2009. The exhibition is a launch of a multi-year collaboration between the High and MoMA with more exhibitions under development. Four masterpieces of Monet's immensely popular water lilies will be on view. www.high.org
New at Atlantis
The new Spa Atlantis in Atlantis Casino Resort Spa in Reno is one of a few U.S. spas to offer Pantai Luar experiences. What is that, you wonder, as I did? Well, it's a massage that uses two heated sachets, or as some spas call them, dumplings, containing herbs, coconut and limes. The sachets are used during the massage, releasing the herbs and oils into the skin. The spa also offers the Rasul Ceremony, a bath treatment that involves the application of six healing muds while sitting in a chamber filled with gentle herbal steam. Check those out and more at www.spaatatlantis.com
pick of the week
I'm packing for a weekend in St. Simons Island, Georgia and I'm taking along my pair of FitFlops – "the flip flop with the built-in gym." The founder of FitFlops is Marcia Kilgore, who opened Bliss Spas, and later sold the company for big bucks. She also had worked as a personal trainer and experience firsthand women's terror of cellulite. So the FitFlop is designed to increase conditioning of gluteal, hamstring and calf muscles as well as to absorb shock and reduce muscle strain. Available in nine designs with several color choices, FitFlops start at around $49.95. www.thefitflop.com for locations.
