From Vegas?
Be in the know with the new website vegaschatter.com. Just launched this week, vegaschatter is the newest addition to the network of travel blogs from SFO Media, which includes hotelchatter.com and jaunted.com. Topics such as What You Should Know About Cabbies in Vegas, Finding Medical Care, Who to Call for All Your Party Needs and plenty more information on shows, hotels, nightclubs and restaurants. Cheap Goes Chic
Having sworn off cheap motels, I wouldn't usually pay too much attention to an item about Motel 6. But given our current economy, plus their new planned prototype for Studio 6, we may all want to look again if we've got a stay for more than five nights planned. Studio 6 features a new, modern design that includes an open living area, granite countertops in the bathroom, flatscreen TVs and a fully equipped kitchen. The first one will be in the Dallas area, with construction beginning this summer. www.staystudio6.com
Renaissance Amsterdam Renovation Complete
I was lucky enough to stay in this well-located hotel last fall, but it was mid-renovation. We did take a tour however, and my favorite feature was the meeting space in the adjacent 17th-century domed Koepelchurch, offering an ambience far beyond your traditional big-boxed, windowless meeting rooms.
