Colorado Calling
Under the category of something you will never see me doing is Ice Racing. But how cool does this look? Jeep Ice Races are held every weekend in January and February on Georgetown Lake, which is transformed into a racetrack. All you need is a driver's license, a four-wheel or all-drive vehicle and a belief that you won't fall through the ice. Which is the part I don't have. For info check out
www.ourgangiceracing.com. Other winter adventures in Colorado include ice climbing, snowshoeing under moonlight and Ice sailing. Check out the current issue of Travelgirl for plenty more on Colorado.
Songwriters in
South Walton
More than 100 songwriting greats will be performing in 17 venues at the second annual 30-A Songwriters Festival. 30-A is the highway that connects15 of the most gorgeous beaches you'll ever see, along the Florida Panhandle. The festival is January 14-16, with songwriters that include Emily Saliers of the Indigo Girls and Tim McGraw. If that's not enough of a draw, consider that right now it's 67 degrees there. Need I say more? Find out more at 30asongwritersfestival.com
