Behind-the-Scenes in Italy

I know you're in great hands with this group leader – she happens to be my sister-in-law. An award-winning mosaic artist, Julie Richey is leading a tour of mosaic treasures in Italy with Mosaic Art NOW Magazine editor Nancie Mills Pipgras June 9-17. Join a group of 15 to tour Venice, Ravenna, Siena, the Tuscan Coast and Rome where you'll visit mosaic sites you can't see on your own and watch skilled artists at work. A native Italian guide will lead the group and a tour company is handling all the arrangements. Learn more at Julie's website at http://web.mac.com/julierichey/www.

Eat, Pray, Love, Bali

We all can't take a year off to "find ourselves" but how about just a week? Visit Bali, one of Elizabeth Gilbert's stops during the writing of her bestselling book Eat, Pray, Love May 21-27 with Spirit Quest Tours. Take a trip to Ubud, where she first stayed, and visit many of the people she spoke of in the book, including Ketut Liyer, her beloved Balinese shaman. You'll stay in a four-star eco-resort and participate in yoga and meditation. For information, visit www.spiritquesttours.com:16080/bali/

One for the Boys

You guy may not be wild about entering this contest until he learns he can win a Stanley Digital Power Station or a Stanley Instant Jump Start. Mantripping is sponsoring the "Don't Be a Tool" contest. Guys have to write about something they did and why they are sorry for it. Entries are judged on outrageousness of crime and sincerity of apology. Oh and an entry gets bonus points if it happened during a guys weekend. Entries must be received by March 3. Visit www.mantripping.com for details.

Dining in Denver

Restaurant week in Denver is actually two weeks this year, from February 20 to March 5. More than 270 restaurants are participating in the promotion, which includes multi-course meals for $26.50, two for $52.80. Denver is one mile high – 5,280 feet. Check it out at www.denverrestaurantweek.com

Pick of the Week

I usually pack two bags when I travel – one of the big stuff and a small one for going out at night or short day trips. This clever French Grain Shopper has both in one bag. When you don't need to schlep it all, just unsnap the small bag in front, throw in your cell phone, room key and lipstick and you're good to go. $365 at www.dkny.com
