Call in Absinthe to Work

This is just too Toulouse Lautrec for words – the InterContinental in Montreal is opening the first absinthe bar in North America. Sarah B. celebrates the legend surrounding the "green fairy" known to induce hallucinations in European bar-goers. Banned in many countries in 1915, this anise-flavored spirit is undergoing a revival and just became available in the U.S. in 2007. The bar is named after famed actress Sarah Bernhardt who performed in Quebec in 1880 and said to still roam the site, which is now part of the hotel. www.barsarahb.com
